Policies & Requirements

Health & Vaccinations

  • All dogs must have completed at least one full set of core vaccinations or provide current titer test results, and must be in good overall health before attending daycare or boarding.

  • Core vaccinations include Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Adenovirus (Hepatitis).

  • The Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine is not required. If your dog receives the Bordetella vaccine, we ask that you wait 14 days before attending Patch of Heaven, as recently vaccinated dogs may shed the vaccine strain.

  • To help protect the health of all guests, we also require a 14-day waiting period after attending another boarding kennel or daycare facility before visiting Patch of Heaven.

Arrival & Departure

  • For everyone's safety, please remain in your vehicle if another client is checking in or out. We will invite you in or come to your vehicle when it is your turn.

  • Drop-off time is between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

  • Pick-up time is between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

  • Please notify us as soon as possible if an emergency will delay your scheduled pick-up time.

  • Pick-ups after 5:30 p.m. will be charged an additional night's boarding, even if overnight accommodations are not required.

Cancellation Policy

To reserve your pet's stay, a valid credit card or full payment is required at the time of booking. This policy applies to cancellations, date changes, and shortened stays.

Regular Season

  • For bookings outside of peak periods:

    • 7 or more days' notice: Full refund or no charge.

    • 3–6 days' notice: 50% of the booking total is charged (or refunded).

    • Less than 3 days' notice: 80% of the booking total is charged (or refunded).

    • No-shows: The full booking amount will be charged.

Peak Season

Peak Season includes Christmas, Thanksgiving, March Break, Long Weekends, and July 1 through September 2.

  • 14 or more days' notice: Full refund or no charge.

  • 7–13 days' notice: 50% of the booking total is charged (or refunded).

  • Less than 7 days' notice or no-shows: No refund. The full booking amount will be charged.

Camping Reservations

If your reservation is connected to a camping trip, please let us know when booking. If your trip is cancelled due to weather, any cancellation fees may be applied as a credit toward a future booking.

Compassionate Exceptions

We understand that life can be unpredictable. Exceptions to this policy may be made in cases of serious illness, injury, or the death of an immediate family member or pet, at the discretion of Patch of Heaven Pet Resort.

Grooming & Personal Items

  • All pets should arrive with freshly trimmed nails. Nail trims can be provided upon arrival for $20.

  • Dogs should wear a properly fitted collar with current identification tags.

  • Dogs that are accustomed to sleeping in a crate are encouraged to bring their crate for added comfort.

  • Pets sensitive to cooler weather should bring an appropriate coat or sweater.

Parasite Prevention

  • All pets must arrive free of fleas, ticks, and other external parasites.

  • We recommend that all dogs remain on a veterinarian-approved parasite prevention program.

Intact Dogs

  • We welcome both spayed/neutered and intact dogs.

  • Female dogs in heat cannot be accommodated.

  • A $5 per day Special Care Fee applies to:

    • Intact dogs over eight months of age

    • Dogs that regularly urine mark indoors

    • Dogs that exhibit persistent mounting behaviour

  • Should a female enter heat during her stay, she will require separate accommodations and an additional $10 per day management fee.

Behaviour & Property Damage

  • Patch of Heaven is designed for social, well-adjusted pets. Dogs displaying dangerous aggression or severe destructive behaviours may not be suitable for our facility.

  • Owners are financially responsible for damage caused directly by their pet during their stay. A schedule of repair and replacement costs is available upon request.

Licensing

  • Dogs should be licensed in accordance with their local municipal or county regulations where applicable.

Reservations & Payment

  • Full payment or a valid credit card is required to secure new reservations.

  • We accept cash and e-transfer

  • Early departures are not eligible for refunds.
